Hey this site is a true testament to how freestylers loved the sport not the fame or money. I loved the days when dave was around. At 32 I'm still rockin 13, 80's freestyle bikes with pride of the old days. Reading all the stories on this site makes me want to go to my local skatepark and do a miami hopper on the spine ramp just to show these new kids how cool back then was!

what a great read! I remember seeing those curb dog articles and they sure had a big influence on my life. I sure wanted to be one of them - they/vids exposed me more to skating too, nearly 20 years skating now...

Awesome site and wonderful tribute to Dave!! My son David was born in 1981 and Dave was his hero in his early years. I would take my son down to the San Leandro Marina (to hangout) on the weekends and my son called Dave "Vander" and Dave use to play with my son David and do tricks for him for hours. He was a great guy and truly an inspiration for all of the young people of the 80's. He is so missed and I'm so glad to see that someone has taken the time to keep him alive! Thank you for this. Dave will always be alive to my son and all of us everytime we watch the X-Games we think of him and know that he would be a HUGE part of that today.
